The budget category of smartphones is flooded with hundreds of options to choose from. Manufacturers often release multiple variants of the same device in order to attract more customers. With such a wide variety of options available in the market, it becomes a bit difficult to choose the best device.
Here we will review RCA Q1 4G LTE smartphone and we will try to find out whether you should consider buying it or not. So let’s get started and take a look at its features.
Currently, this phone is available on Amazon. As you might have already guessed, this is not a flagship device and neither does it claim to be. This is a budget category smartphone with a few tricks up its sleeve to beat the competition.
4G and other connectivity features:
The main selling point of this smartphone is that it is 4G LTE. It supports 3G and GSM bands too. Another point to note is that it is compatible with all of the GSM network providers in the United States. As the phone comes unlocked, you will have the freedom to choose the network provider that suits you the best.
There is not much to boast about its display. It features a 5.0-inch HD display. The display is bright enough to be used in outdoor conditions. However, if you are looking for a phone with a vibrant display then this is not the one for you.
RAM and Processor:
It comes with a 2GB RAM. This much RAM is good enough for running basic apps without much of a delay but you shouldn’t expect it to serve as a gaming powerhouse. It comes equipped with a quad-core processor that is good enough for basic productivity apps but multitasking is not its forte.
The primary camera at the back is 8 MP and the one in the front is 5 MP. Both the cameras have auto stabilization. The camera in the back is also supported by a LED flash. Auto stabilization and LED Flash definitely add value to this phone. Low light photography is not that great but you can expect decent shots from these cameras in bright sunlight.
It comes with Android Marshmallow with a custom skin on its top from the manufacturer. Considering the hardware of the phone, Marshmallow works seamlessly on this device. Bloatware is minimum and the experience is geared more towards stock android.
The phone is equipped with a 2400mAh battery. By no means is this a powerhouse but when we consider the power requirement and the usage of power in this device, 2400 mAh seems to be just enough. It will last easily for an entire day with moderate to heavy use.
A great device for those who want a budget category smartphone that offers a little more than bare minimum features.
